APLA Food Drive 2014

APLA World AIDS Day Food DriveFor World AIDS Day 2014, APLA will conduct a massive food drive activating constituents all over LA County to donate non-perishable food items and personal hygiene items to persons living with HIV/AIDS. These donations will help to supplement the groceries available at the 8 different Vance North Necessities of Life Program (NOLP) locations every week.

Proper nutrition is so important to the health and well-being of people living with HIV/AIDS. AIDS Project Los Angeles sees over 11,000 low-income clients every single year, with an average income of less than $800/mo. The Vance North Necessities of Life Program (NOLP) operates 8 food pantries across Los Angeles County (Santa Monica, Lancaster, North Hollywood, Mid-Wilshire, South LA, Long Beach, Claremont and Pasadena) where clients are able to bring home the equivalent of four bags of groceries every single week at no charge.
