There are four
different triathlon training / event options this season:
Option A - The Nautica
Malibu Triathlon (International Distance - 9/7/13) - This will
be our third year participating in this beautiful race which consists of a .93
mile swim, a 25 mile bike ride and a 6.2 mile run in gorgeous Malibu. All
participants will receive the full training program which begins on May 18 as
well as a guaranteed entry into the race.
Option B - The Nautica
Malibu Triathlon (International Distance - RELAY DIVISION - 9/7/13)
- Perhaps you want to participate, but don't want to do all sport types. You
and two other friends can register for the relay team option where each of you
chooses one specific sport type to do on race day. All participants will
receive the full training program which begins on May 18 as well as a
guaranteed entry into the race as a relay team.
Option C - The Austin
70.3 (Half Ironman - 10/27/13) - We are very excited to offer
an extended season this year with an impressive goal, a 70.3 (Half Ironman)
race! This race consists of a 1.2 mile lake swim, a 56 mile bike ride and a
13.1 (half marathon) run. All participants will receive the full training
program which begins on May 18 as well as a guaranteed entry into the race.
This race takes place in Austin, TX.
Option D - For triathlon
enthusiasts, we offer you the complete season! We'll begin on
May 18, train all summer, complete the Nautica Malibu Triathlon (somewhat like
your "practice race") and then travel to Austin, TX to complete the
Austin 70.3. Both race entry fees will be covered by T2 for qualified participants.
Fundraising deadlines will vary by event, but will not be before June 30, 2013.
The training season will consist of a weekly pool swim (location TBD), a weekly
"brick" workout in Griffith Park and a longer training session each
Saturday in various locations, including Zuma Beach in Malibu. We will also
offer extra sessions such as additional ocean swims on various days.
