T2 TRAINING PROGRAM FAQs

Where do I train?

T2 athletes train in various locations in and around Los Angeles depending on the event you have chosen:

Triathlon Training: Training begins on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Training will take place at least three times a week at various locations. A schedule will be provided. There will be pool swims, ocean swims, cycling rides and running sessions.

LA Marathon: Training begins on Saturday, October 20. Training will take place on Saturday mornings in Griffith Park at 7:30 a.m.

How long are the training workouts?


T2 workouts vary in length, depending on the type of sport and the weekly schedule. (Each participant will receive the training schedule prior to the start of training.) Swim workouts will generally last about an hour. Cycling and running workout durations will vary from week to week.

Do I need experience?

No! T2 Training Programs are designed for both beginners and experienced athletes. Everyone is welcome regardless of fitness level. Triathlon participants must, however, know how to ride a bike and must be able to swim at least 50 yards prior to the start of training.

What gear do I need?


Runners need properly fitted shoes, a water bottle and running clothing. Please visit "A Runner's Circle" for all of your needs. 

Triathletes need the following:

Bike, Helmet, Running Shoes, Swimsuit, Swim Cap, Swim Goggles a Water Bottle and a Wetsuit. You will also need event specific clothing.

 Please bear in mind that you don't need the most expensive equipment on the market. You may also borrow items or go with used equipment altogether if you want.

What support will I receive?


T2 coaches are experienced and knowledgeable athletes who know what it takes to succeed. Coaches will work with you in training, nutrition, and injury prevention. In addition to your Coach, you will be assigned a Team Manager. Your Team Manager will guide you through the T2 program and answer any questions you may have. They are also here to support your fundraising plan and your experience.

You will also have the priceless support of your TEAM.

I have registered; now what?

As soon as you are registered, you will begin receiving information from your Team Manager about training and fundraising, so please watch your e-mail inbox.

Also, you will be given access to our Facebook group, where you can get to know other participants and get constant updates on the T2 program and upcoming events.

Go ahead and start telling everyone about what you have committed to do in 2013! Your fundraising can start immediately!
