Mr. Edwin "Chachi" Chachi Camacho
Last year, I felt the need to give my body a rest & took the year off of marathon-running & fundraising. It is a new year and I am taking on a new task. Over the summer months, I’ll be training for the Blackmores Sydney Half-Marathon that takes place in beautiful Sydney, Australia. I’ve made it a personal mission to raise at least $15,000 for APLA (Aids Project Los Angeles).
Along with a fantastic group of TEAM TO END AIDS (T2) participants, I'll be running "down under" on September 21, 2014!
Nearly 1.2 million Americans are now living with HIV and 56,000 more will be infected this year. For over 30 years, APLA has provided food, home health care, and other services to thousands of people whose lives are affected by HIV/AIDS. Many of them are living in poverty and have nowhere to turn.
I know times are tough, but please help so I can reach my goal. Anything you can do is helpful, no donation is too small...
Someone once broke it down simply before & its the best visual of where your money goes:
$45 One dental procedure at APLA Dental Services or at our mobile dental clinic
$60 One private counseling session with a licensed therapist
$100 One month of mental health support group activity for one woman
Just take a moment and think about that for a second & thank you for your time!!!
