Hi friends!

If you've reached this page it's because I've personally cajoled you and/or cluttered your newsfeed/inbox with multiple messages encouraging you to do so. That means... IT WORKED! I was just annoying enough to make you care!

This November I'm running in the XTERRA Trail Running World Championship. I'm not doing this to torture myself, I'm doing it to test my capacity to accomplish something that my rational mind tells me I shouldn't be able to do.

But if you know me, you know I'm not generally a selfish person. So along with my personal challenge I am personally challenging all of you to help me add meaning to this run, to help me raise funds for AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA).

The XTERRA Trail Running World Championship is an off-road half-marathon held in the mountains of Oahu, Hawaii. Along with the rest of my amazing T2 teammates, I'll be running 21k / 13.1 miles along trails, up hills, through mud, around boulders, and under fallen trees (it's seriously tough, watch this video if you don't believe: http://youtu.be/DL8_gxEKlWw). Another thing you probably know about me is that I love nature. I find solace in the natural world. It is a part who we all are and some day we will all be part of it again. I could either run a marathon on a paved road with man, or I could run up a mountain with mother earth. I choose mom.

I am pushing myself to do this because I know all this effort will end up helping the people in need who come to APLA for help. Nearly 1.2 million Americans are now living with HIV, and 56,000 more will be infected this year. Most of those effected are gay men, my community, MY FRIENDS. For 30 years, APLA has been the biggest safety net for thousands of people in LA when their lives are upended HIV/AIDS. I work there, I see it every day, I know how big the need is.

That’s why I’m asking you to help. Please join me in doing what we can to bring an end to HIV/AIDS and to support me in this effort. Any amount will help, but seriously, I know a lot you ain't poor. Just sayin...

Please donate today by clicking on the tiny little yellow button that says, "Donate To Support Jason!". It's just over there to the right, under my picture, you can't miss it. >>>>>

Thank you so much for reading this overwritten and overedited note. Thank you for caring, thank you for your support, and thank you for being a friend.
