Mrs. Emily J Cohen-Meth
Dear Friends, Thank you for visiting my page. For the past four years I have been participating in endurance events while fundraising for APLA. In doing this I have found something I am passionate about: helping others while being athletic, and encouraging others to do the same. I'm at it again - I am raising money for APLA and training for the Malibu Olympic distance triathlon and Austin 70.3 (aka half ironman). This year the program has taken on new meaning as I have lost people and watched others lose people that were close to them. I made a decision to make a difference. It is my hope that by participating in these activities I can make a difference and help people to live better quality lives. Why APLA you may ask? APLA is an organization I believe in. As I was growing up in the 80's, I witnessed first hand the devastating effects of HIV/AIDS. The deaths of many close family friends are etched in my memory. People don't have to die anymore. They don't have to face the fear and stigma if HIV alone. This is in part because of APLA and the wonderful work they do. As long as HIV/AIDS exists, I will continue in this fight. Thank you for joining me by donating today.
Nearly 1.2 million Americans are now living with HIV, and 56,000 more will be infected this year! For over 30 years, APLA has provided food, home health care, and other services to thousands of people whose lives are affected by HIV/AIDS. Many of them are living in poverty and have nowhere else to turn.
That’s why I’m asking you to help. Please join me in doing what we can to bring an end to HIV/AIDS. You can donate as little as $5 or as much as you like.
Please donate today by clicking on the button that says, "Donate To Support...". It's easy! Help me exceed my goal and make a difference in the life of an APLA client today. Donations are put to use immediately — so please, donate today!
Thank you so much for caring, and thank you for your support.
