Dear Friends and Family,

I’m taking the challenge of asking you to run the LA Marathon vicarously throuigh me and help me kick AIDS's butt!! Starting in October, I’ll be training for the LA marathon and I’ve made it a personal mission to raise at least $2,000 for AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA,

On March 9, 2014  I'll be running 26.2 miles through Los Angeles! I’ll be training at least three days per week because I really want to transform my chicken legs so I can SHAKE IT LIKE BEYONCE... all while benefiting APLA! It's a WIN WIN!

In the many years I've completed the LA Marathon, this is the first time I am running to end HIV/AIDSHere's why:

Currently (in 2013!), over 1.2 million Americans are living with HIV and 56,000 more will be infected by the end of the year. In Los Angeles, APLA serves over 10,000 people who are affected by HIV: giving out thousands of bags of free groceries to those who face HIV and hunger; finding safe shelter for those who are ill and homeless; restoring smiles by providing dental care for those who have suffered from painful oral health problems related to their HIV. More than 3,100 people stream into APLA’s HIV prevention, education, and testing programs around the county initiatives. These initiatives focus on youth, people of color, and others who are at highest risk of infection but often lack access to the services they need to stay healthy and negative.

In short, APLA plays a critical role in the lives of thousands of Angelenos affected by HIV/AIDS--and with my two legs, we can show all people affected by HIV/AIDS that THEY ARE NOT ALONE!

That’s why I’m asking for your help. Join me in saving you a few calories and skipping your sbux today and instead donate $5 or as much as you like!

Together we will END HIV/AIDS!!!!!

Please donate today by clicking on the button that says, "Donate To Support GaryIt's easy!  Help me exceed my goal of raising at least $2,000 and make a difference in the life of so many afflicted with HIV/AIDS.  Donations are put to use immediately — so please, donate today!

Thank you for your support!!!

Fighting AIDS With Leg Power

One week to go!
It is hard to believe that five months ago I was simply jostling with the idea of running the LA marathon for a cause. I remember thinking "wow, how am I going to raise THAT much money?" But this year proved to be a tremendously wonderful year. Not only do my legs rival Beyonce's now, I reached my goal of raising $2000 for the AIDS Project Los Angeles--and the best part about this experience was the very generous support of all my friends and family. You guys did it! With the recent tragedies of the Boston marathon and with this accomplishment in hand, I am more determined than ever to make this a very successful marathon year.
Thank you all and especially to my new friends at T2--you guys rock!
See you on the starting line!

Less than two months till race day!
Hi All!
It's been a long past couple of months and after a much needed holiday break and a two-week hiatus, I am back at it stronger than ever. This year, I want to break my person record and with less than two months to go, I have a lot of running to do! This week will culminate with a long 18-mile run, but not before I put in an extra 32 miles! We're already off to a great start!
Thank you all for your continual support!

Second Run With T2 -- Completed!
This morning, at the crack of dawn, I put on my tutu fabulous princess costume and headed to Griffith park. I ran a breezy 5 miles with the team--and even though I experienced tutu chaffing (something I never thought I'd say), it was a great run! A picture will be posted on fb.
Thank you all for your continuous support!
